Privacy Policy

1.Who We Are

Plot Twist is operated by Charles Boswell, a sole proprietor based in Texas (“we,” “us,” or the “Developer”). Plot Twist is a MiClikz project.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Plot Twist mobile application (the “App”) collects and uses when you play, sign in, collect daily rewards, use Game Center, or make an in-app purchase, and the choices and rights you have. It should be read together with the Plot Twist Terms of Use.

2.Definitions

• “Personal Information” means information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with an identified or identifiable individual.
• “Service Provider” means a third party that processes Personal Information on our behalf and under our instructions.
• “Account” means your Plot Twist game account created or accessed through Sign in with Apple.
• “Sparks” means the in-game reward items made available in the App.
• “Plot Twist Plus” means the optional auto-renewing subscription offered through the App Store.
• “Apple” means Apple Inc. and its subsidiaries.

3.Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to operate the App. The categories of Personal Information we collect, their sources, and our purposes are:

Sign in with Apple. When you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple provides an account identifier and, depending on your Apple settings, may provide your email address and name. We use this information to create or access your Account. Your sign-in session is stored securely in your device’s Keychain.

What we do not collect. The App does not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or full payment card details, and does not include any advertising or third-party analytics software development kit (SDK).

4.How We Use Information

We use Personal Information only for the following purposes:

• to sign you in and maintain your Account session;
• to save and restore your cases solved, case progress and answers, check-ins, and Sparks;
• to support Game Center leaderboard scores and Plot Twist Plus subscription access;
• to maintain the security, integrity, and basic operation of the App, and to prevent fraud and abuse;
• to respond to your support, privacy, and deletion requests; and
• to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Plot Twist Terms of Use.

Where the law of your jurisdiction requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on the performance of our contract with you (providing the App and your Account), our legitimate interests in operating and securing the App, compliance with legal obligations, and your consent where it is requested.

5.Game Center

If you use Game Center, Apple handles Game Center authentication and leaderboard participation. The App submits the supported case-solving score to its Game Center leaderboard. Game Center data is handled under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. Game Center is a separate Apple feature and is not used as the sign-in method for your Account.

6.Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

If you subscribe to Plot Twist Plus, Apple processes the transaction through the App Store. The App checks your purchase entitlement through Apple’s StoreKit framework to enable the associated Plus features. We do not receive your full payment card details.

7.Service Providers and Disclosures

We disclose Personal Information only as described below:

• Supabase. Supabase provides the App’s authentication and database services and processes Account and gameplay data on our behalf as a Service Provider.
• Apple. Apple processes Sign in with Apple, Game Center, and App Store transactions as part of its platform services, under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.
• Legal and safety. We may disclose information where required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the App, our users, or our rights, property, or safety.
• Business transfers. If the App or its related assets are transferred, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

8.No Sale or Sharing; No Advertising or Analytics SDKs

We do not sell your Personal Information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. The App does not include any advertising or third-party analytics SDK.

9.Data Retention

We retain Account and gameplay data for as long as needed to provide the App and maintain your saved progress, and then delete it. When you request deletion, we delete your Account data within a reasonable time, except where we are required to retain certain records by law or need them to resolve security incidents or purchase disputes.

10.Your Choices; Access and Deletion Requests

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your Account data by emailing hi@miclikz.com from the email address associated with your Account or by providing information sufficient for us to verify your request. You may also stop sharing your email through your Apple ID settings, sign out of the App, or stop using Game Center through your device settings.

11.U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, including California and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws, you may have the following rights, subject to applicable exceptions:

• Right to know and access the categories and specific pieces of Personal Information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom it is disclosed;
• Right to delete Personal Information we have collected from you;
• Right to correct inaccurate Personal Information;
• Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of Personal Information and of targeted advertising. We do not sell or share Personal Information or engage in targeted advertising;
• Right to limit the use of sensitive Personal Information. We do not use sensitive Personal Information for purposes that would require this right; and
• Right to non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

California disclosures. In the preceding twelve (12) months, we have collected the categories of Personal Information described in Section 3 (identifiers, such as an account identifier and email address; and commercial information, such as subscription entitlement status) for the business purposes described in Section 4, and have disclosed them only to the Service Providers described in Section 7. We have not sold or shared Personal Information, and we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the Personal Information of consumers under 16 years of age.

To exercise these rights, email hi@miclikz.com. We will verify your request using information associated with your Account and respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law, and we may require proof of authorization. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and we will respond to the appeal as required by law.

12.Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for people who meet the minimum age shown for the App on the App Store in their country or region. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13, or under the minimum age required by local law, without verifiable parental consent. A parent or guardian who believes a child below that age has provided information may contact us at hi@miclikz.com to request review or deletion, and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

13.Security

We use the security features available through Apple, the device Keychain, and our Service Providers to protect Personal Information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14.Data Location

We are based in the United States, and the information described in this Privacy Policy is processed and stored in the United States. If you use the App from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

15.Do Not Track

Some browsers and devices transmit “Do Not Track” signals. Because the App does not track you across third-party apps or websites, does not include advertising or analytics SDKs, and does not sell or share Personal Information, there is no tracking to which such a signal would apply.

16.Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the App changes. We will post the updated version at this location and update the “Last Updated” date above, which shows when the current version took effect. If we make material changes, we will provide notice as required by law.
